Today is the Sixty fourth day the Nigerian University Students has been sent back home due to ASUU strike,
While the union has vowed never to call off the strike until Federal Governor reaches her conditions and are well fulfilled.
Majority of Nigerians, even the affected students does not know the cause and the reason behind their stay at home.
Here are the reasons gathered official behind the ASUU strike.
The following are the issues ASUU has with the Federal government of Nigeria which has necessitated the indefinite strike action.
1. Refusal to honor the 2009 agreement.
2. 2013 MOU; funding for the revitalization of public universities; earned academic allowances;
registration of Nigerian universities pension management company and pension matters; university staff school, fractionalisation and non payment of salaries among others.registration of Nigerian universities pension management company and pension matters; university staff school, fractionalisation and non payment of salaries among others.
Moreover, another meeting has been scheduled today, January 7th 2018 for further negotiations between ASUU and Federal Government, represented by the Minister Of Labour, at their minister conference room.
